For those looking for a very impressive, but admittedly esoteric wine, look no further!
As I've written before, the Valle d'Aosta is a quirky but fascinating (and insanely beautiful) wine region that is technically in Italy, but also has cultural influences from France and Austria.
This is at least 40% Torretto but has any number of indigenous alpine grapes added to the blend. Red and black fruits, with the structure to improve for 3-5 years, but perfectly fine to drink now.
Take a walk on the wild side.
Blend of local Italian varieties including Torretto. Serve cool.
