Sancerre is no longer the value that it was in years past, but it remains either the best or second-best expression of Sauvignon Blanc in the world (depending on whether or not you prefer Pouilly-Fume).
One case of twelve bottles per account was my allocation this year, mostly due to a tiny harvest in 2021. Still, this is undeniable, and for my money Lucien Crochet is the very best producer represented in the Virginia market at this time. This hits all the right notes, with green fruit, fresh cut grass, melon, and minerals. As classic as it gets.
