This is a beautiful, beautiful Cru Beaujolais from perhaps the best vineyard in the best village of the region. Cote-du-Py has been known for centuries for its high quality. The wines will indeed improve with age in most cases, but this one would be very hard to resist even in its youth.
Classic aromas of red berries, cherry, and white pepper. This is fairly generous on the palate, with more notes of red fruit, graphite, and those little punchy tannins that make Cru Beaujolais so appealing with a meal. The concentration of fruit would make this very fine on its own as well.
Super and the best example I have tasted recently.
100% Gamay. Serve cool.
