Barale Fratelli is perhaps better known for their wines from neighboring Barolo, but the knowledgeable wine rep I buy this from and I both think this is way, way better.
I like red fruit tones (versus dark) and this has them in spades. Sweet morello cherry, spice, woodsy notes, flowers, etc. The 2019 vintage produced Piedmont wines that are just so incredibly pretty. They are generous and it's not a crime to open this wine now, though I'm certain it would also repay a few years in the cellar.
This is the best Barbaresco or Barolo I have tasted in recent memory. Not much available but I bought what I could. If you like Piedmont reds you really can't go wrong here.
100% Nebbiolo. Serve cool.
