I'm probably overloading the shop with Italian reds from the Piedmont, but with cooler weather approaching I. just. can't. stop.
Barolo and Barbaresco (made from Nebbiolo) deserve the limelight, but there are so many fantastic regional grapes in the Piemonte. Barbera, particularly from Alba, is sensual and pairs very well with Fall and Winter dishes. Game, hard cheeses, risotto, any kind of stew.
100% Barbera. Serve cool.
