First off, this is a super crushable summertime red that is a blend of Pinot Noir and Zweigelt. You'll want to serve this with a slight chill. It is light in body with soft red fruit and minerals. Yum.

Second, this is unusually labeled as generic "European wine" due to the fact that the grapes are sourced from both sides of the Austria-Hungary border. If you're student of European history you might recognize those names strung together. Evidently there is a local population that is culturally homogenous but was separated when the borders were re-drawn after WWI. Long story, but worth noting.

I'm not saying this isn't a bit off the beaten path, but the truth is that wines like these rarely leave Europe and would be exotic even in very big wine markets like New York.

If it's good it's good, no matter where it comes from.

Pinot Noir & Zweigelt. Serve slightly chilled.
